Onshore/Offshore Scaffolding and Fire & Safety Solutions

Focused on People

PEOPLE

The Foundation of Our Success

Of the three “Ps” that create the DSS difference – People, Process and Product – the most important factor is People. People are the foundation of delivering safe, efficient and productive results. Not everyone is cut-out for working at DSS, which is why we pay meticulous attention to hiring and training to ensure our teams can perform at the highest level.

Our Approach

RIGOROUS
HIRING PROCESS
All job candidates are required to pass tests for knowledge and hands-on skills assessments. We evaluate prospective hires from the time they drive into the parking lot, during the interview process and even when leaving the facility. We pay attention to the details to ensure candidates meet DSS expectations.
IN-HOUSE
TRAINING
Selected candidates are immersed into a comprehensive training experience, including setting DSS expectations, hands-on scaffold training and fire & gas technician training at our work yards. Every new hire must pass this curriculum before receiving a work team assignment.
CUSTOMIZED
TRAINING FACILITIES
Our commitment to realistic training goes beyond the ordinary. We built a mock facility in our yard to give our scaffolding crews, both onshore and offshore, the opportunity to learn, develop and perfect skills before they get on an actual job site and to refresh skills.
CONTINUOUS
IMPROVEMENT
We actively seek feedback on our performance from customers via surveys and employees through questionnaires. We use this information to identify areas where we can do better and develop training plans to achieve identified performance improvements.
ONGOING
SKILLS ENHANCEMENT & MANAGEMENT
We actively manage our teams through daily and weekly Leadership Conference Calls, keeping us focused on safety and achieving results. Our people receive regular refresher training on safety, skills and conflict resolution.
SAFETY
ALERTS
We proactively identify safety issues and issue company-wide safety alerts to make sure our people are up-to-date on the most recent safety training and concerns.
